A celebration of music – voices, woodwind, strings, trumpets and timpani join together to praise God
Everyone is welcome at a special celebration of music sung to the glory of God here at St Saviour’s at 6.30pm on Sunday 8 September.
Our Vicar, the Revd Dr Joe Kennedy, will officiate at an abridged form of Choral Evensong, followed by J.S. Bach’s Cantata 110: Unser Mund sei voll Lachen (May our Mouths be full of Laughter).
Music for the service will be provided by Liverpool Bach Collective – an ensemble of voices, woodwind and strings, joined for this festive occasion by trumpets and timpani.
The performers are a mix of professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians, and the Collective is directed by Philip Duffy, formerly Master of the Music at Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral. Admission is free; a retiring collection will be taken to help defray the expenses of this celebration.
