Lent Activities

Why not mark Lent by taking part in one of the many special Lent activities available at St Saviour’s?

LENT LUNCHES take place at Christ Church Oxton every Monday from February 19th to March 19th between 12.00 noon and 1.30pm. Come along for a simple lunch and good company while contributing to Christian Aid’s work with the poorest people in the world.

LENT TALKS take place in Room 3 of the Parish Centre on the Wednesdays of Lent at 8pm. The talks are part of a quiet service of Night Prayer (Compline) and are based on The Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent Book for 2018.

LENT BOXES are available from the back of church for you to take home and return at Easter.  It’s a tradition at St Saviour’s and St Andrew’s that, as part of our observance of Lent, we give what extra we can afford to an outside charity. This year’s chosen charity is the Church Urban Fund.

SUNDAY MORNING SERMONS in Lent are entitled Wash Me as White as Snow and you can hear them at morning services at St Saviour’s and St Andrew’s throughout Lent or download them from this site.

MIDWEEK COMMUNION SERVICES are a lovely way to mark the Season of Lent. Why not make a point of coming along on Tuesdays at 7.00pm or on Thursdays at 10.00am?

ECUMENICAL STUDY GROUPS are meeting this Lent at various venues. For details of what’s available, please contact the Parish Office.
