Environment

We call on everyone, whatever their belief or worldview, to endeavour to listen to the cry of the earth and of people who are poor, examining their behaviour and pledging meaningful sacrifices for the sake of the earth which God has given us.

Joint Statement by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Pope Francis, and the Ecumenical Patriarch, September 2021

As a church, we take environmental issues very seriously.

In recent years, we have taken substantive steps in becoming increasingly responsible, and in 2022 we were awarded the A Rocha Bronze Eco-Church Award. We are continuing our commitment to further improvements.

Our parish’s Environmental Policy helps us to act responsibly as a community, caring for our environment and seeking to shrink our parish’s “footprint”.
