Prayer at Eight

Once a month, a small group of clergy and lay people meet to pray together at St Saviour’s. The service is called ‘Prayer at Eight’, since it starts at 8.00pm and ends at 9.00pm.

Each month, the minister officiating at the service leads the congregation in a different form of prayer. Recent examples include opportunities to try praying using icons, reflecting on a short story, using poetry in prayer, and reflecting on a story in the Gospels.

No previous experience of praying in different ways is expected, and the ministry team works hard to ensure that the service is accessible for both beginners and those with more experience. Each person prays in their own way, at their own pace, and people’s privacy is strongly respected at this service. An excellent place to learn more in your own way.
